When I lived/worked in DC from 2013-2015, I remember I got a random email from someone wanting to meet and talk about their work and grab a coffee. I went to the coffee and this person started talking to be about universal basic income and the need to provide direct cash transfers to people experiencing poverty and economic insecurity. I remember thinking, wow, what a great idea, but that's never going to happen. And now, here I am humbling watching as more and more basic income pilots pop up around the country and the talk about the need for direct cash transfer resonate for more and more audiences. I wanted to share this story as to remember, if we don't imagine it, hope for it, talk about it, dream it, it will never happen. The need for hope, visioning, imagining in this time of so many crises and so much hate is needed more than ever. "We believe this hope gap exists for several reasons, ranging from a lack of trust in the government to intergenerational differences. The most significant cause of the hope gap is that conservatives have portrayed reparations for Black people in the U.S. as alaughing matter, which only illustrates the depths of white supremacy and anti-Blackness. For all Americans, closing the hope gap is an urgent matter of justice and human dignity."So what are you holding yourself back from imagining, hoping today? #reparations #univeralbasicincome

That's why our partnership models prioritise scalable mentoring services with local delivery. This approach ensures consistency of service provision, a crucial factor in driving positive outcomes.📈Our analysis also underscores the importance of programme continuity. Those who complete a mentoring programme tend to experience significantly greater improvements compared to early exits. 🗣️And beyond quantitative data, our analysis reveals a recurring benefit of our approach — the advocacy provided by mentors.
