About Strawberry Milkshake

This creamy strawberry milkshake is made with a combination of fresh and frozen strawberries. Made with a handful of ingredients, this milkshake gets done in just 5 minutes.

Making a perfect strawberry milkshake is not rocket science, but some secret ingredients make it a gourmet drink that is pretty pink without any additional flavors or colors, and also does not have chunks of strawberry in it either.

The secret is in the combination of strawberries all the way.

I love everything strawberries and this strawberry milkshake is prepared with fresh and frozen strawberries, strawberry ice cream, and strawberry jam. It is a living dream for a strawberry lover such as me! :)

The great thing about this milkshake is that you can easily customize it according to your taste and diet preference. You can make it thin or thick! Plus, you can also make it without the ice cream, jam, and sugar. On most days I make a simple healthy and wholesome strawberry smoothie or milkshake made with strawberries, milk, chia seeds, and frozen bananas.

On other days when I want a dessert kinda milkshake, I go for the traditional milkshakes such as mango milkshake and strawberry milkshake which have sugar, and ice cream. We don’t drink strawberry milkshakes every day, but when I drink I make it perfect by adding everything it should need.

In this recipe, I have regular milk and dairy ice cream, but you can easily make this recipe using vegan strawberry ice cream. Also, vegan-friendly milk substitutes such as almond, soy, or coconut milk can be used in place of regular milk.

I love drinking my lunch or dinner during summer days and this milkshake serves this purpose very well. This milkshake tastes just like strawberries and has an ideal combination of thickness, sweetness, creaminess, and refreshingness.

Strawberries are one such versatile ingredient that can be eaten as it is, and can also be used in many different recipes.

During the summer months when there is an abundance of strawberries, I always keep a couple of boxes of fresh strawberries in my refrigerator, and other than eating my strawberries I make many recipes with them.

And when I don’t have time to make any recipes, and I am done with eating them, I simply freeze them to use throughout the year. I never buy frozen strawberries from the store.

Ingredients for the Perfect Strawberry Milkshake

Making a real thick and creamy strawberry milkshake requires some simple ingredients such as:

  • Strawberries – I like to use the combination of fresh and frozen strawberries in this milkshake recipe. Because fresh ones make this milkshake taste fresh, and frozen strawberries give it a creamy and cool texture.

  • Milk – I have used full cream milk for making this milkshake. The creamier milk makes the creamy milkshake. But you can also use semi-skimmed milk for this recipe. If you don’t like too-milky milkshakes, then simply dilute the milk with chilled water.

I won’t recommend it though.

  • Sweetener – I have used white granulated sugar here. You can also use raw cane sugar.

  • Ice cream – It is the key ingredient of milkshake recipes. For this milkshake, I used a homemade strawberry ice cream that doesn’t have any eggs or fake flavors. You can also use store-bought strawberry ice cream for making this milkshake. If you think that adding strawberry ice cream would give too much strawberry flavor then you can swap it with vanilla ice cream.

  • Strawberry jam – I add about 1 tablespoon of homemade strawberry jam to this milkshake recipe. It improves the overall strawberry flavor and gives it a pretty pink color. Adding strawberry jam is completely optional here.
