The University of Missouri Center for Family and Policy Research islocated within the Department of Human Development and FamilyScience. The Center was established in 1997 to serve as a resourcefor the development of effective public policies relating tochildren, youth, and families, with a focus on integration ofresearch, policy, and practice. This position is part of a $3.2million dollar grant that was recently awarded to the University tosupport childcare providers across the state within Mizzou’s ChildCare Collaborative Network. Job Description

The Child Development Coordinator will evaluate the needs ofchildcare providers in the North Central region of Missouri,conduct program quality assessments, and coordinate and conducttrainings to improve their quality of care. The Child DevelopmentCoordinator will oversee others who are working in the region toimprove childcare quality by providing coaching, modeling of bestpractices, and conducting training. The North Central regionincludes the following counties: Lafayette, Johnson, Saline,Pettis, Cooper, Howard, Boone, Callaway, Montgomery, andWarren.

For the North Central region, we will be hiring a Coordinator foreach of the following services:

  • Home Childcare Programs
  • Preschool Centers
  • Infant Related Programs

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee individuals who provide on-site coaching and modelingof best practices to improve program quality
  • Coordinate and conduct trainings for childcare providers
  • Establish and maintain certification to administer programquality assessments
  • Coordinate and administer childcare program qualityassessments
  • Coordinate purchases and distribute materials

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer technology (MS Office, Zoom)
  • Data entry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work collaboratively and independently to deliver services

Use of a personal vehicle is required. Applicants must reside inthe region of the state where the services will be provided. Forthis position, a candidate must reside in one of the followingcounties: Lafayette, Johnson, Saline, Pettis, Cooper, Howard,Boone, Callaway, Montgomery, or Warren.

Shift

Approximately 40 hours per week, flexible hours. The worksite forthis position will be physically located in Columbia, Missouri andemployees will be expected to report on site Monday through Friday.Regular regional travel will be required. Occasional evening andweekend work, as well as onsite meetings in Columbia, Missouri, mayalso be required.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree in early childhood education, childdevelopment, or related area or the equivalent combination ofeducation and experience from which comparable knowledge and skillscan be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A four (4) year degree in Early Childhood Education, FamilyStudies, Child Development, Social Work, or a closely relatedfield
  • A least three (3) years of supervisory experience in the areaof early childhood development
  • At least five (5) years of professional work experience in thearea of early childhood development, including three (3) yearsworking with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and/or school-agedchildren

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $ 38,480 - $54,787 annually. This is a grant fundedposition.
