What trophies did Maradona not win?
When Diego Armando Maradona joined Barça to great fanfare, not winning either the Liga or
Diego Maradona never won the Ballon d'Or as only players of European nationality were eligible to win the award during the large majority of his career. However, he did receive an honourary award in 1995 that was named the Golden Ballon d'Or. Not too bad and pretty well deserved!
In his time at Napoli (1984-91), Maradona won two Serie A titles, UEFA Cup and the Italian Super Cup. A team that was, in his words, closer to the second division, had been hauled to the top of European club football.
Pele and Maradona both had the same number of titles throughout their careers, with 14 trophies won between their clubs and national team's.
Diego Maradona is arguably the greatest footballer of all time, yet with all his glory, he didn't win the Champions League. Maradona won the World Cup virtually in 1986 but never got his hands on the European Cup. The only European trophy he won in his career was the 1989 UEFA Cup with Napoli.
His sublime skills, vision, and ability to conjure moments of magic elevated Argentina to the pinnacle of world football. As a testament to his exceptional performance throughout the tournament, Maradona was awarded the coveted Golden Ball, given to the player of the tournament.
Nevertheless, despite playing fewer games, Pele scored more goals than Maradona in the World Cup, with 12 strikes in 14 games. Maradona scored eight goals in 21 World Cup games, including four in Argentina's successful 1986 campaign, though never in the final.
In 1983, under coach César Luis Menotti, Barcelona and Maradona won the Copa del Rey (Spain's annual national cup competition), beating Real Madrid, and the Spanish Super Cup, beating Athletic Bilbao.
He had won a Copa del Rey, a Copa de la Liga and a Spanish Super Cup at Barça and scored an impressive 38 goals in 58 matches for the blaugranes.
Pelé began playing for Santos at age 15 and the Brazil national team at 16. During his international career, he won three FIFA World Cups: 1958, 1962 and 1970, the only player to do so and the youngest player to win a World Cup (17). He was nicknamed O Rei (The King) following the 1958 tournament.
Did Pele ever play against Maradona?
The rivalry was born from the eternal competition between Brazil and Argentina, but also due "to Maradona and his desire to surpass Pelé." Which is curious when you know that the two players never crossed paths on field: Pelé retired right as Maradona was getting started.
He inspired his teammates with his passion and determination, often single-handedly carrying his team to victory. Some argue that Maradona's ability to uplift those around him and galvanize a team sets him apart from Messi.
Ronaldo has an edge over Messi in the Champions League, his love affair with the competition earning him the moniker 'Mr Champions League'. The Manchester United star has also enjoyed notable success on the international stage with Portugal, winning the European Championship and the UEFA Nations League.
Because Maradona played for Napoli in an era where only one team from each league was allowed entry into the European Cup proper and he only won two Serie A titles in that time. Back then, the tournament was held in a knockout format which allowed entry only to the champions from each of UEFA's 32 member nations.
Messi is a better playmaker than Maradona making more assist and creating more chances. Messi is miles ahead of Maradona in terms of scoring. Messi is a more complete player than Maradona being able to win multiples Golden Boots while also making absurd amount of assists and dribbles, all in same seasons.
Renowned for his ability to control the ball and create scoring opportunities for himself and others, he led club teams to championships in Argentina, Italy, and Spain, and he starred on the Argentine national team that won the 1986 World Cup.
Brazil phenomenon Pele was never given the Ballon d'Or because of a rule preventing non-European players from winning it until that policy was overturned in 1995.
Maradona was known for his incredible dribbling skills, speed, and precise ball control, as well as his controversial off-field antics. In 2005, Maradona was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame for his contributions to Italian football during his time with Napoli.
Maradona had an estimated net worth of $500,000 at the time of his death, according to Celebrity Net Worth, a website that reports on the wealth of famous people. The website says its net-worth estimates are based on "financial analysis, market research, and inside sources".

Pelé was physically fitter than any footballer today. He ran the 100m in 11 seconds, faster than 99% of today's footballers, a playing heart rate of 56bpm, the average pro is around 95bpm & a vertical leap measured at 48 inches = to Michael Jordan. Decades ahead of his time.

His qualities like dribbling, ball control, shooting, heading etc was almost unmatched by any player.
Maradona has appeared in three editions of Copa America and has never won the trophy. In 12 matches he played in the tournament, Maradona managed to score only four goals and did not provide any assist.
On 16 January 2018, Ronaldinho confirmed his retirement from football through his brother/agent: "He has stopped, it is ended.
In March 1991, after a game Napoli had played against Bari, Diego Maradona failed a drug test. The Italian football authorities banned him for 15 months. He fled to Buenos Aires, where the Argentinian law authorities subjected him to continual harassment and surveillance, including a short spell in jail.
